Documentary Credits Officer - £16-20 per hour

• Day to day preparation of work including but not limited to:
• Issuing letters of credit
• Checking of documentary presentations
• Processing of collections
• Processing of guarantees
• Effecting of payments under collections/doc/credits
• Discounting/Loans
• Claiming of funds
• Preparing entries




• Meeting of target times
• Obtain approval of risk where appropriate (Credit dept., Commodity Support, Loans Admin., Account Management)
• Ensure work is presented in an acceptable format and in accordance with Bank standards and procedures
• Calculation and collection/diarising of fees




• Checking and verification of input
• Diarising as appropriate
• Ensure advices to clients are forwarded promptly
• Evaluate transactional risk and report accordingly
• Develop rapport with clients through social/business meetings
• Liaise with Dept. Head with regard to training requirements
• Report any problems to Dept. Head
• Develop solutions utilising available software for new requirements
• Ensure system integrity is not compromised
• Continuously evaluate existing systems looking for methods of replacing manual processes
• Liaising with other departments including but limited to:
• Transaction authorisations
• Obtaining rates for FX/discounts/loans
• Advising transaction/general comments




• Keep updated on Trade Finance product developments, risk, fraud and regulations
